one thing you want more of this year
Q: What’s one thing you want more of this year that can’t be measured?
A:Q: What’s one thing you want more of this year that can’t be measured?
A: This year, I want more patience; heart-deep patience. It helps me embrace the process, even when things are uncertain or discouraging. When I rush toward outcomes, I miss learning, and I burn energy on frustration instead of growth.
I've been working on a long-term project that has stalled several times. I got discouraged. I got distracted. And all the reasons screamed that I should quit. Grow up. Forget it. But I couldn't let it go, and I restarted. Then I realized that feeling sorry for myself wasn't the best way to spend my time. Once time is gone, it's gone forever. That's the fact.
That shift—choosing to keep going and appreciate little progress—can make the work more meaningful.
So my commitment this year is to cultivate patience: to trust that setbacks are not the end of the world, to celebrate small gains, and to be grateful for the journey, not just the destination. If I can pause, reflect, and refuse to give up, I’ll find that patience transforms both the results and how I experience them. . Harsh reminder: Once time is gone, it's gone forever. That's the fact.
